Thinking about Lebanon....

I'm thinking of my distant family in Lebanon today. A country that we read has been devastated by so much, and yesterday's tragedy in terms of the human cost is above and beyond all- Beirut has just lost its port during a time of a global pandemic and the worst economic disaster in generations.

For me, I only know Lebanon as abundant with deep history and culture, and a people overflowing with generosity and boundless hospitality. A country that gave us the alphabet: A country that gave us the Roman architectural designs that helped rebuild London after the Great Fire. Here are some drawings I did when I was a student many moons ago...as i wait for a relative to get back in touch.
